Virus infections & windows repair

Windows problem and suspected virus infections. Spyware and virus repaired and windows need to be repair due to windows file missing during removal process.

The problem also resulting a problem for broadband connections.

Hard disk crash, i/o error

Computer cant boot due to harddisk is missing from system. we run a set of testing to ensure any other causes other than the actual Harddisk faulty, we;

• test SATA cable for consistency and changing it with the SATA for the DVD media -> SATA OK
• RAM and MOBO is OK by testing loading using ubuntu cds.
• Bring back the Harddisk for further testing at Iklik Home -> HARDDISK FAULTY.
• Reassemble hardware and clean the unit.

Client agree on proposed solutions, a new hardisk+ format. Fortunately he backup his data upto last week transactions cos we unable to read the harddisk for data backup.

Toshiba L310; windows reformat due to applications failure

Due to windows problem, full format is required. Backup process takes  about 6hrs as almost 80Gb file to transfer, this harddisk only have 1 partitions. Windows installations can only start after all files is backup. As for future convenient, we create 2 partitons.

Other findings;

• LCD panel problems as we had to move the flip back and forward in order to see the display, suspected LCD panel faulty.

Compaq V3760TU ; Format due to performance problem

Couple days earlier we repair this unit (read here), clients call back to notify other problems, we suggest to full format ( software re-installations and units cleaning & reassembly) because the unit look too dusty and software seem problematic.

Our Findings;

• CPU units too dusty.
  • total cleaning, reassemble hardware.
• New mobo ( just recently replace the mobo, not by us).
• Use old PSU with the new mobo. -> advice to change to new yet the old one is still usable.
  • Got to limit the power usage by disable floppy drive and cd-ROM drive ( this unit got 2 drive, one is cd-rom and the other one is dvd/cd rw drive).
  • Got 2 IDE harddisk drive; 1(250Gb)+1(40Gb)=290Gb
• RAM installed is DDR1, 1(256mb) + 1(512mb) = 725mb (ok too run simple program)
  • advice too upgrade by adding another 1GB.

Due to windows genuine activation, windows functions became limited and activation is required. we reformat the units to rep[air the activations issues.

• For conflict/unrecognized devices we use the windows updates to find it.
• to enable the aero functions we repair by using the build in troubleshoot;
  • type aero in the search bar.
  • click on  “Find and fix problem with transparency and other visual effects”
  • follow the instructions on the pop-up windows.

hp G42-633TX ; wireless adaptor connections problem

new notebook the hp g42-633tx, the problem is, the wireless connection is not connected and cannot detect wireless signal from surrounding area. we tried to reinstall the driver yet cant solved the problem. This led us to concluded and suggest a full format as last resort to reinstall all the driver properly.

• Standdard format -> new windows cant automatically install network driver for the wireless adaptor
  • download driver here –> hp G42-633tx ( chipset,graphic and broadcom network)
  • use this ati for graphic as we detect that its use ATI Mobility HD 5400 graphic <—download  by choose the appropriate driver.
  • also install atleast directx 2 to enable aero on your windows ( i install this by installing nero7).

HP mini; cant load windows, blank screen with blinking underscore

Windows didn’t load with blank screen with a blingking underscore, our first impresion is a windows problem, we tried to repair the startup yet failed. Best options is to reinstall windows.
